Join Our Team!

At some point in everyone's life they want to be a firefighter. Now is your chance! Even if you don't wish to enter a burning building, there is plenty you can do to contribute to your community and help save lives and property.

Visit our station on Tuesday nights from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM for our regular training. We'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Abernant Fire Department is located in Tuscaloosa County Alabama. Bordered by Adger, Brookwood, Greenpond, Lakeview, McCalla and Vance, we cover about 43 square miles of rural residential and woodlands.

Our fire department currently has about twelve volunteer firefighters, one main fire pumper, two tankers, one medical rescue truck and one support vehicle.

Our Immediate Goals:

• Install fire hydrants throughout our residential coverage
• Install multiple (3) tornado shelters throught the fire district
• Get a tornado siren installed in the central point of our district
• Get a grant for purchase of a new pumper
